Factor 75 (aka Factor) is a meal delivery service that positions itself firmly in the “wellness” category. It’s not just about getting food into your belly, it’s about making sure only the best ingredients end up there. If that’s how you roll, Factor might be a good meal service for you.

It’s more expensive than most meal kits you cook yourself, but that’s because Factor meals are premade and delivered fresh, not frozen. They just need a quick spin in the microwave before they’re ready to enjoy.

  • compatible with gluten-free and vegetarian diets
  • customizable add-ons like snacks, soup, juice, and meat
  • fresh, not frozen, meals — no thawing needed
  • free nutrition consultation
  • in-depth nutrition coaching packages available for a fee

Cons

  • more expensive than home cookin’
  • single-serve only — no option to scale up for family meals
  • heavy on the diet culture

Interested in giving Factor a try? Here’s what to expect.

Step 1: Sign up

To get things rolling, go to Factor75.com and enter your email and zip code. You’ll get to choose how many meals you need each week. (Options range from 4 to 18 meals per week with decreasing cost per serving as you go up.)

Step 2: Pick your meals

This is the fun part. Skip the meal prep and simply click on the menu items that sound the best to you. There are always at least 29 meals options per week to keep things interesting.

You can filter meal options according to factors like dietary preference (think Keto, moderate calories, and vegan/vegetarian) or spiciness level. Factor also lists all the nutrition info for each meal, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

You can also let Factor choose meals for you with their “Chef’s Choice” option.

Step 3: Get your meals

Your meals will be delivered (for free!) by FedEx. They’re packed with insulation and cold gel packs, so you know they’re fresh. Each meal will come in its own container.

Step 4: Enjoy

When you’re ready, just microwave and eat up! Meals can be stored in the fridge for up to a week (or longer in the freezer). If you want to skip any weeks, you just have to head to the app and choose the skip option by their weekly cutoff, which is 11:59 p.m. CT on Wednesdays before the following week.

Factor cares a lot about ingredients. The company doesn’t use any ingredients with artificial preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, gluten, refined sugars, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Factor also has strict chicken welfare standards for animals used for meat or eggs in its meals.

Ingredients also come from sustainable sources and are organic when possible.

You can check the ingredients to avoid common allergens. But Factor doesn’t have separate facilities for preparing allergen-free foods, so cross-contamination is possible.

Factor lets you filter meal options by these diet types:

Depending on exactly what you’re looking for, you might not have tons of options to choose from. Factor offers 20+ meal options each week. Keto, high protein, and low carb plans have the most variety.

Factor says their meals range from about 350 to 900 calories with an average of around 600 calories per meal. Their menu shows the nutritional info for each meal so you can plan ahead. If you choose the “Calorie Smart” menu option, most meals will be under 550 calories per serving.

They also have the option to chat with a dietitian if you want help choosing or have a nutrition question.

Generally speaking, user reviews tend to give Factor fairly high marks for taste, which feels right for the price. Users tended to enjoy the taste of the food even if they had issues with other aspects such as delivery or price.

Though not every meal was cooked exactly as they preferred (a tougher burger was mentioned once, for instance), they generally enjoyed the doneness and flavor of all their test meals. Factor’s focus on flavor and freshness gives it an edge over similar meal services in terms of taste.

They note that freezing the meals after you receive them is possible, but fresh tastes best.

If you’re used to eating out or ordering takeout a lot, Factor will cost about the same amount per meal, or even less (depending on how fancy you like to get).

You can choose to get as many as 18 meals per week or as few as 4 meals per week. The more you buy, the lower the cost, so your meals will cost anywhere from $11 to $15 each. Shipping is always free. Here’s the specific breakdown without any discounts:

Servings per weekPrice per serving (without any discounts)
4 $15.00
6$12.83
8$12.38
10$11.99
12$11.50
18$11.00

That can add up to a pretty big price tag, but it might be worth it if you’re looking for fresh ingredients that fit your specific food preferences without the work of prepping the food yourself.

Factor is a good option for busy people who want fresh, tasty, and convenient meals delivered right to their doorstep.

So, if you’re looking for the highest quality ingredients, follow a specific diet (keto, high protein, or low carb), and would rather spend a little more money to have someone else do the cooking, Factor could be for you.

However, if you’re on a budget or not into diets, other meal delivery services are probably going to be a better fit.
